Henry Church graduated from Watertown High School where he won the Choral Award and played euphonium in the school band. He has his B.F.A. (Bachelor of Fine Arts) degree in classical guitar performance from The Hartt School of Music (University of Hartford). While at Hartt he studied with Richard Provost and Alan Spriestersbach. He has played in master classes for Alice Artze, David Tannenbaum, Ben Verdery and Oscar Ghilia. He studied jazz and took classes with Jaki Bryard, Paul Jeffries and Jackie McLean.

Since graduating, he has taught guitar and electric bass at many Litchfield County prep schools. In addition to his teaching, he has played nightclubs, private parties, weddings and art galleries. He has played the Tedesco Concerto with the Danbury Chamber Orchestra and performed with the Waterbury Symphony.

Henry joined the Renaissance Center faculty in 1999.
