Mark Focarile

Mark Focarile began playing the piano at age 8. He studied all through grade school and into high school studying both classical and jazz music. Mark has continued his piano studies at Western Connecticut State University and earned his B.S.his B.S. in Music Education in spring, 2005. Through 14 years of piano playing, Mr.Focarile has studied classical piano with John Dulina, Russell Hirshfield, Leslie Merwin, and Estelle Mackenzie, and also studied jazz with Tony Guzzi, and Peter Tomlinson. At Western Connecticut State University he has had the privilege of playing with Matt Wilson, Don Braden, Fred Hersch, and the late Bob Berg as well as being the soloist with the WCSU Orchestra and Wind Ensemble.
Currently, Mr.Focarile plays all throughout New England with his own rock band, Mile Marker Zero. Also he is the organist and Assistant Choir Director at North Congregational Church, UCC in Woodbury, CT.
Mr.Focarile began teaching at the Renaissance Center in 1998.
