Femina Melodia is a women's a cappella group, singing a mix of Spirituals, Medieval, Renaissance and Classical songs, international folk music, original compositions and contemporary American folk music.

SPRING CONCERT

will be Sunday, May 16, 2010

at 7:00 p.m.

at B’nai Israel Synagogue,

444 Main Street North in Southbury.

Femina Melodia was founded in June 2001 by director Jan Gregory. She has loved the sound of voices singing in harmony since her childhood days of singing duets with her sister and hearing her father sing in barbershop quartets. Femina Melodia is the realization of her dream to direct a women's a cappella singing group. The joy of singing songs together creates a community of music, fun and support.

Each concert includes at least two performance pieces by the Femina Melodia Drummers - 8 of the women from the singing group. They play authentic African rythms from village life as well as composed pieces by members of the group.

We may come to rehearsal directly from work, without time for dinner, but we go home happy after singing songs together.
